High-Grade Gold Discovery in the Pacific: Kalo Gold Reports Significant Drill Results in Fiji

As global investors seek fresh sources of high-grade gold, Kalo Gold Corp. (TSXV: KALO) has delivered a headline-grabbing drill interval in the South Pacific. With high-grade drill results from its Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji, the company is turning heads in the precious metals space — and positioning Fiji as an emerging exploration hotspot. The result underscores the emerging potential of Fiji’s underexplored epithermal corridors and places Kalo among the most technically compelling exploration stories in the Pacific.

Introduction

In today’s gold sector outlook, geopolitical uncertainty, tightening supply, and central bank demand are pushing explorers to the edges of the map.  That’s why news out of Fiji — a jurisdiction often overshadowed by its Australian and southeast Asia neighbors — is making waves this week.

Kalo Gold Corp. has announced a significant intercept from its Phase 1 2025 drill program, including 12.80 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 22.12 meters at the Qiriyaga Complex at its 100%-owned Vatu Aurum Project. The result supports a high-grade epithermal model and confirms the company’s strategy to target both diatreme-hosted and epithermal gold deposits across the district.

As global demand for new discoveries rises, especially those with scale and grade, this report positions Kalo Gold on investor watchlists across North America, Europe, and the Pacific.

High-Grade Discovery in the Qiriyaga Complex

Kalo’s Phase 1 drill hole VA25-DH11 targeted the QC1 structure within the Qiriyaga Complex — one of several priority zones on the property. The hole returned:

  • 22.12 m @ 12.80 g/t Au (true width ~20.70 m)

  • Including 10.05 m @ 25.10 g/t Au, with peak grades up to 83.30 g/t Au

These grades represent a very high-grade interval for an epithermal system and point to a strong zone of gold mineralization. The intercept sits near the margin of a mapped diatreme — an explosive volcanic feature that can channel mineralizing fluids and concentrate gold along its contacts. At QC1, the combination of high grades, intact breccia textures, and the structural position along the diatreme margin reinforces the model of a well-preserved system with significant depth potential.

Structural Gold Systems Come into Focus

This discovery extends beyond a single interval. Kalo’s broader thesis is coming into play: Fiji’s Namalau, Qiriyaga, Loma and Buca Trends appear to host multiple high-resistivity features associated with hydrothermal breccias — prime territory for high-grade gold.

The company has identified multiple similar targets within its Aurum Epithermal Field, based on geophysics and surface sampling. These zones will be tested in future drilling programs as Kalo continues to advance its exploration model.

Crucially, this work is not early-stage reconnaissance. Kalo is advancing a model supported by historical drilling, geophysics, soil geochemistry, trenching, and new geological and structural interpretation. This level of data integration provides a more mature exploration framework — one that may resonate with technically focused and institutional investors.

Why Investors Are Watching Fiji

While Fiji is not traditionally considered a top-tier mining jurisdiction, it boasts mining-friendly policies, established infrastructure, and a skilled local workforce. As global exploration budgets shift toward jurisdictions with untapped potential, Kalo’s focus on Fiji aligns with that broader trend. Kalo’s timing is strategic.

The country’s geopolitical stability and proximity to Australia and Southeast Asia provide additional operational advantages.

For context only, investors often reference other volcanic-arc settings where epithermal systems have yielded world-class deposits — such as Martha (New Zealand), Lihir and Porgera (PNG) — as well as well-studied diatreme-hosted systems like Kelian (Indonesia) and Balatoc (Philippines). These examples are geological comparisons only and are not intended to imply any economic similarity or potential.

👀 Stocks to Watch (Awareness Only)
  • Kalo Gold Corp. (TSX-V: KALO)

  • Newmont Corp. (NYSE: NEM) – large-cap producer with an M&A presence in the region

  • Lion One Metals (TSXV: LIO) – operating and exploring in Fiji

⚠️ Risks & Considerations
  • Early-stage exploration: No mineral resource estimate has been defined.

  • Jurisdictional considerations: Fiji is a smaller, non-traditional mining region.

  • Capital requirements: Continued drilling and project advancement will require ongoing funding.

  • Market volatility: Gold price movements and limited small-cap liquidity can affect valuation and access to capital.

Conclusion

Kalo Gold’s recent high-grade drill results mark an important step in defining the potential of the Qiriyaga Complex and the broader Aurum Epithermal Field in the Pacific. As additional targets are tested and the geological model continues to be refined, investors will be watching for evidence of continuity and scale beyond the initial intercept.

In a market focused on new high-grade discoveries, the Vatu Aurum Project — with multiple untested structural and diatreme-related targets — highlights Fiji’s underexplored mineral potential and positions the region for increased technical and investor attention.
